4 Stars Risk 2210
It is a good version of risk. is a little harder to play then the original one so i would recommend it only for a older crowd, plus a lot more pieces to keep track of.

1 Stars Probably takes 2210 Years to Finish
Risk 2210 is a variant of Risk, the classic board game. But we all knew that. If you are new to Risk, let me summarize the game briefly. You have a map of the world, divided into 42 territories. You initially start with several of them. On your turn, you get more guys and you can fight others using dice. When fighting, the higher dice roll wins and one soldier is eliminated for each losing die. You get bonuses when you control entire continents like Asia, which spawn even more guys on your turn.

What Risk 2210 does is it adds a bit more to this. First of all, you’ve got new areas to conquer. There’s water and moon territories now. Secondly, you can buy commanders, but only 1 of each type. They range from the naval commander, who allows you to take water territories, to the space commander, who lets you go to the moon. You can also buy command cards only if you have the matching commander of the card you are buying. The cards do things like add more soldiers or dice to battles. The cards and commanders are purchased with the use of energy tokens. The tokens are also used to bid for starting turns. Also 4 random territories are nuked at the start of the game, which make them impassable and unusable for the remainder of the game.

By far the biggest change to the game is the 5-turn rule. There’s only 5 turns in this game. Now, it may seem short, but the fact that there’s so many territories, pieces, die rolls and card purchases makes the game last an average of 4 hours, IF you are experienced with the rules. Anyway, what this does is it makes people play more riskier so that they can win - which is done through having the most points - which are territories, cards and bonuses.

Now what’s my thoughts on this game? Well, this is one of my newer games after the original scrabble, monopoly, etc. First of all… the game looks pretty. The armies are molded into robot soldiers and the commanders are fairly detailed, with metallic paint being used. There’s a lot of bits, which means you’ll need baggies to store them all. There’s a bunch of cards inserted as well.

The problem with the game is the fact that it still takes FOUR HOURS. That’s not a game; that’s a commitment. That’s 1/6th of your entire day! It’s not easy bringing in a few random others and tell them that this will require 1/6th of your day or even more if they are new.

Secondly, the game has the problem of whoever has an advantage will generate more of an advantage, something monopoly-like. If you are behind, the longer the game goes, you’ll stay further behind.

If you want a decent war-game, get yourself Memoir 44. It’s a great game that’s simpler, faster and better made than this game. It only fits 2 however. Or if you want an overall game that’s great, Ticket to Ride is my highest recommendation. It fits 5, plays within an hour, is simple and offers exciting choices.

Don’t bother with Risk.

5 Stars The Ultimate Boardgame
Ahh, the only boardgame that does not put me to sleep, what an excellent game.

5 Stars Fun game!!!
To me is the best Risk game, I’ve played several others and this is more complex, but at the same time more fun.

5 Stars Risk 2210 Review
This is a great game for people who love strategy and socializing around board games. You must have patience to finish a three to six hour game, however. But it is great fun for people who want to spend an afternoon or evening socializing and strategizing together. This is more fun than traditional (original) risk in that there are more strategic options and consequenses. It is anyone’s game until the end!
