Imagination Quelf Board Game

Have outrageous fun with your friends and family playing Quelf, the board game where you’ll use your creativity, wit and humor in ways you’ve never imagined. Whether you’re answering hilarious trivia, performing ridiculous stunts or obeying silly rules, you’ll be hard pressed to find a more unpredictably fun and exciting party game! Random has a new name…and it’s Quelf! Quelf is insanely fun and it’s easy to play too. But the outcome of Quelf is anything but simple. As you move around the gameboard, crazy things start to happen. Players start talking weirdly. Your friend’s face is wrapped in toilet paper. Your mom is talking like Dracula with her thumb on her forehead. You’re sitting underneath the kitchen table until someone rolls a “4″. And when the dust settles, the laughing finally stops and someone crawls away the winner, you realize you’ve never had this much fun playing a board game in your life! 3-8 players, ages 13 and up.

4 Stars Crazy in a Box
This is the first review I’ve written but I cannot help myself. The other (positive) reviewers have done a great job describing this game and how to play it. What I will write is that I have a collection of 100+ board games. I am not easily impressed with a game but this one blew me away!
I received this game as a gift and I had to play it right away. Since you need three players, I posted online to find a third. In the end, four strangers come over to join us (Yes, I am a wee bit crazy and you need to be to thoroughly enjoy this game!) Setting up and playing this game is quick, easy, and painless. Playing this game, though, is anything but…We played for close to four hours but many of those minutes were consumed with laughter. We hurt when we were finished.
As an organizer of a singles group, I cannot wait to share it with my members. It’s a perfect party game! Despite not knowing one another, we quickly became familiar with one another and had no qualms doing most of the things on the cards (A lipstick antic was the only one I think we skipped.)
I recommend this game to anyone who has a great sense of humor, can laugh at themselves, and isn’t easily embarrassed by doing very childish things. One of our players had to give himself a wedgie, which he had to keep for the entire game!
5 Stars Finaly, a game for people like us!
I always liked games like Cranium, but have felt like they were made for the average person. The stunts and tasks are OK, and humming a tv theme in front of others is probably pushing the limits of regular people, but my friends and I are hams from way back in the day, and when we get together, we spontaneously do things that are ten times funnier and crazier than anything that game has us do. Enter Quelf, a game written for those of us who like a little attention and love to laugh.
You start the game by picking from a cast of hilarious characters (Queen Spatula is one) then you take turns rolling the dice to move around the board. The space you land on dictates the card category which range from serious and ridiculous questions (Does a chicken have lips and if it did, would he smack em?) to stunts (reorganize the room you are in until time runs out while using your best interior decorator impression), to creating awesome lists one person at a time until someone can’t think of another one (list reasons you’ve used or heard when breaking up with someone), to performing (pretend you are a talking parrot and commentate on the last minute of a basketball game using one and two word sentences), to hilarious rules for you individually or for the group (anytime you take a drink, propose a rousing toast that all players join in on). If you can’t (or won’t, but come on, what kind of party pooper are you?) do a task, you are doomed to move backwards on the game board, further from the goal and victory!
Though there are a few somewhat racy cards (list places you’ve been naked) nothing is patently sexual or inappropriate. A few pop culture references may fly over the head of some younger players, but you won’t feel like a bad parent for playing this in a room with kids in it. They could even join in some of the fun, or even better, the creators of this game have made an even more kid-friendly version called Flapdoodle.) Not only are the tasks a TON of fun, but you’ll marvel at how they were able to come up with so many of them and keep the game funny throughout! I’m always a little sore at the end from laughing myself silly.
If you haven’t already stopped reading this review, taken aback in horror, then I promise you’ll love this game. You and your friends and family will laugh yourselves into a stupor and end up with plenty of fantastic memories.
5 Stars Funny ice-breaking game for relaxed people.
I played this game with six people (none of whom knew more than one other person in the group) and we had a wonderful time. It’s best if you aren’t too inhibited as this game encourages you to be outgoing. Once we had Roolz about things to be done when someone laughed, the game lengthened because people were almost constantly laughing. Give yourself room to move, as you might be dancing. Oh, and you may want to ask before you lick an opponent’s elbow; it’s just the polite thing to do.
3 Stars A fun time, just a few small annoyances
I bought this game last week and after playing it a few times I have to put it in the good-ish category. Like everyone says, the game IS fun, but I own a lot of fun board games and this one has poor build quality. It doesn’t come with little boxes or slots to put the cards in so it turns into a big mess unless you provide your own zip lock bags. Also the character pieces are of low quality and their written names are hidden by the plastic feet that they stand on… not to mention that they are the utterly random and mock worthy. I also find it annoying that the different colored cards, which signify categories like quiz, rule, showbiz etc, aren’t labeled as such on the back of the card… that makes it confusing for new people. Maybe the next edition will have better construction, like cranium has, and can replace the downright retarded character design. Other than the faulty premise and flimsy construction, the game is fun and doesn’t make my more trivia challenged friends as frustrated as some other games do. 4/5
5 Stars Quiet a hoot!
Quelf is a silly game and a simple premise. You roll the dice and move to the space. You draw the corresponding card and do what it tells you to do. There are five different kinds of cards; roolz, showbiz, stuntz, scatterbrainz, and quizzle. Roolz cards give either the player, or everyone, a rule they must follow until they get to draw a new one. Showbiz and stuntz are more of an acting category, such as pretending to be a mime stuck in a tree defending yourself against attacking squirrels. These cards or more for the enjoyment of the other players. Scatterbrainz involves the player picking a topic from the card and then players give answers related to the topic until someone can’t answer. Quizzle cards have the player answer trivia, silly questions, and brain teasers. If you fail to complete any of these cards you must move back the indicated number of spaces. All of these cards take the players out of their comfort zone. Instead of sitting around a table with quiet conversation people begin to become more relaxed as they do performances or answer questions that are pretty goofy. In one turn someone may be sitting in a blanket fort, writing a rap about their looks, or wrapping themselves in toilet paper to make themselves look like a mummy. If you want a fun, exciting, and fresh game that will be fun to play with close family and friends than buy this game now. If you are a shut in or downer than you better stick to solitaire.
